Sasol activates Mandela Day in eMbalenhle

In honour of Nelson Mandela Month, Sasol also reintroduced in-person volunteering in partnership with Rise Against Hunger meal-packing activations and a total of 150 meal boxes were packed in Secunda and 60 in KwaZulu Natal, which is 45 400 meals, which will be distributed to Early Childhood Development Centres (ECDs) in KZN, Mpumalanga and Ekurhuleni.

The Sasol For Good (SFG), which is an employee-volunteering and financial contribution programme, activated Mandela Day celebration by painting, cleaning and planting trees at Thorisong Primary School in eMbalenhle on Thursday, July 14.

The Sasol For Good programme was launched in July 2015 with the purpose to leverage the considerable, diverse abilities and expertise of its employees to become more involved in volunteering causes to empower fence-line communities and co-create sustainable livelihoods.

“A total of 150 meal boxes were packed in Secunda and 60 in KwaZulu Natal, which is 45 400 meals to be distributed to Early Childhood Development Centres (ECDs) in KZN, Mpumalanga and Ekurhuleni.

“This is our global employee volunteer programme. It is an example of our values in action as it focuses on employees giving support to charities and donations,” said Mashudu Ndou, vice president: Corporate and Community Affairs at Sasol.
