The MEC for Health in Mpumalanga, Sasekani Manzini, has applauded the police for successfully arresting a security guard who allegedly stole medicine and medical supplies in two health facilities in eMbalenhle.
The police informed the Department of Health that a woman has been arrested for stealing the medicine.
Manzini said the security guard is based at the Langverwacht Clinic.
“It is alleged that the police went to search her house and found various items of medicine and medical supplies,” the MEC said in a press release.
“The department officials were called to the scene to verify whether the items found, belong to the department.”
The items were allegedly stolen from the eMbalenhle CHC and the Langverwacht Clinic.
The police have confiscated the stolen items.
