Standerton police arrested two Eskom workers at Tutuka Power Station this afternoon (November 4) in connection with fraud, theft, and corruption.
This follows an investigation of nearly three months, launched after a whistle-blower made allegations of financial misconduct.
The arrests were made by Capt Mark Nortjé, who was accompanied by Mr Weideman van Wyk from Drone Ops Special Investigating Team, a private investigations company that was involved in the investigation.
Capt Nortjé says the investigation is ongoing and another arrest is imminent. He could not confirm the exact details of the alleged crime, nor the amount of money involved.
More information will become available when the accused appear in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
