Laerskool Oranjegloed Primary School hosted its Trees of Hope project last week. The learners tied ribbons on the palisades at the school to launch this project. The aim of the project is to give people hope during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Teksa Community Support group sponsored magnets and ribbons for the project. Yellow and white ribbons were tied around trees at the school and the learners also took some ribbons home to tie around trees in the areas where they live.
The head girl of Oranjegloed, Abenathi Ndlovu, said hope is making people feel better about who they are and with this project they want to spread positivity to the Secunda community. The learners also wrote message of encouragement and inspiration on the ribbons.
