Secunda resident claims municipality fails to repair water leak

A resident of Bashee Street in Secunda reported a water leak to Govan Mbeki Municipality last week, but it has still not been repaired.

Mr Martin Pearman reported this leak numerous times to no avail.

He said he can see the leak is getting bigger and more houses in the street are affected with the water meters being filled with water.

“My neighbour and I tried to empty it with a hose pipe, but it did not work,” said Mr Pearman.

He wants the municipality to fix the problem before it gets even bigger and will eventually cost even more money and resources to fix.
