Sadtu-members protest in front of circuit office in Standerton

It could be established that the union’s grievances about the circuit manager Ms Yasmeen Mohamed, as well as the division in Standerton between Lekwa East and Lekwa West have not been adequately addressed.

Members of the South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) once again gathered in front of the circuit office of the Department of Education on Thursday, 15 April.

The previous protest was on 31 March.

It could be established that the union’s grievances about the circuit manager, Ms Yasmeen Mohamed, as well as the division in Standerton between Lekwa East and Lekwa West, have not been adequately addressed.

One Sadtu-member who did not wish to be named, said they are strengthening their case.

The Standerton Advertiser contacted Mr Jasper Zwane, provincial spokesman of the department, the same day.

Mr Zwane said he will respond via WhatsApp and a message was posted at 10.08am.

The newspaper has tried in vain in the past to speak to a representative of Sadtu.

A piercing whistle was heard on Friday, 16 April when the union was at the offices again.
