Bolhuis investigates murder of Secunda businessman in Nigel

Mr Rudolph was later found murdered in Nigel and his burnt-out vehicle recovered in Daveyton.

Family and friends are reeling in shock after the death of a Secunda businessman, Mr Jacobus Rudolph (52).

Mr Rudolph phoned his wife, Trudi, on 31 March to tell her that he was returning to Secunda after visiting family in Dunnotar.

However, Mr Rudolph never made the journey back to Secunda. It is believed that he was hijacked.

Mr Rudolph was later found murdered and his burnt-out vehicle recovered in Daveyton.

His personal belongings were missing.

Mr Rudolph’s family contacted Mr Mike Bolhuis on 1 April to assist in the investigation of the hijacking and murder of Mr Rudolph.

According to information received by Mr Morney Vos from Specialised Security Services, at 8:47pm, on 31 March, video footage obtained showed Mr Rudolph driving in Nigel, followed by a white BMW-3 series.

The BMW’s registration number is unknown at this stage.

Five minutes later, the vehicles of Mr Rudolph and the unidentified BMW drove past the camera again.

It seems as if Mr Rudolph was highjacked during this timeframe, was driven around inside the BMW, and also shot in the same car.

Mr Rudolph’s body was found with a gunshot wound in the chest on 6th Avenue, in Nigel.

Mr Rudolph’s vehicle could be seen going through the Ugaga Plaza toll gate on the N17 toll road at 9: 42pm.

According to information received, Mr Rudolph never used this road in the past.

Mr Rudolph’s body was found in the mortuary in Nigel on 1 April.

A case of murder has been opened in Nigel.
