The suspect who tried to run away after committing a crime was apprehended by CPF and HABPS security who handed him over to the police.

BETHAL – Members of the CPF with the assistance from HABPS security apprehended a 28-year-old man for burglary and theft after he broke into a house at Bethal Rand and stole copper pipes and other goods.

The suspect tried to run away after committing the crime, but was apprehended and handed over to the police.

The suspect was taken to Bethal Police Station and will appear in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on charges of housebreaking and theft.

“We thank the CPF members together with HABPS security for the job well done in apprehending the suspect and handing him over to the police,” said Const Thomas Mogadime, media spokesperson for the police.

He encouraged home owners to use oil paint on all copper pipes after installing them as this is the most effective measure to prevent theft of copper pipes or alternatively one can install plastic pipes for plumbing.
