SAVF wants Christmas to be special for Standerton’s children

A provisional date has been set for a day in the first week in December when Christmas lights hopefully, can be lit every evening.

The Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie (SAVF) in Standerton is planning on treating children in the festive season.

“I want to organise a special Christmas for them,” Ms Helen Marima, social worker, said.

The organisation wants to involve the women in the crisis centre, who get together with the skills-learning-group every Thursday, as well.

A provisional date has been set for a day in the first week in December when Christmas lights hopefully, can be lit every evening.

“In this way Christmas can last a long time,” Ms Marima added.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help with music, balloons, gifts and decorations can contact them at 017 712 5031.

“It can be small electric lights that can be strung up onto one tree,” she concluded.

The Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie in Standerton has plans for the festive season.
