Rand Water will reduce water pressure to GMM

These measures will be implemented on Monday, 9 November.

Water pressure to Govan Mbeki municipal area will be reduced by 20 per cent because of the municipality’s arrears account.

Govan Mbeki Municipality is one of three municipalities that failed to settle its outstanding debt with Rand Water.

The municipality’s arrear amount is R314 million and the total amount due by the municipality is R351 million.

Rand Water will implement these credit control measures to compel the three municipalities to meet their payment agreements.

These measures will be implemented on Monday, 9 November.

Rand Water informed the Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, the MEC of human settlements, urban planning and cooperative governance in Gauteng and the MEC for cooperative governance and traditional affairs in Mpumalanga and the department of national treasury.
