Suspected drug dealer in Secunda remains in custody for now

Mr Nwankwo's  case is postponed to 12 November for formal bail application.  He remains in custody.

SECUNDA – Mr Chigozie Nwankwo (29), a Nigerian national, was remanded In custody by the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Monday after he was arrested by members of the Hawks Mpumalanga last week  Friday, 16 October, for dealing in drugs.

Capt Dineo Sekgotodi, spokesman for the Hawks in Mpumalanga said Mr Nwankwo is allegedly the main supplier of various drugs in the Secunda area.

“The team monitored the suspect’s dealings and consequently executed a warrant of arrest for dealing in drugs and contravention of the immigration Act,” said Capt Sekgotodi.

She explained that the investigations are ongoing and more arrests are eminent.

Mr Nwankwo’s  case is postponed to 12 November for formal bail application.  He remains in custody.
