Businessman from Standerton says Hawk’s media release is incorrect

In actual fact, the charges of fraud and theft against Mr William Vusimusi Kgomo were withdrawn by the Public Prosecutor," stated their letter.

Local businessman, Mr William Vusimusi Kgomo, has responded to an inaccurate media release issued by the Hawks recently.

In a press release dated 30 September, 2020, the Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation indicated that Kgomo was found guilty of contravening the Private Security Sector Act, and the Provident Fund and Pension Funds Acts.

A letter from Kgomo’s legal representatives, TMN Kgomo and Associates Inc, indicated that Kgomo was never found guilty of the above crimes or any other fraudulent behaviour.

“In actual fact, the charges of fraud and theft against Mr William Vusimusi Kgomo were withdrawn by the Public Prosecutor,” stated their letter.

The firm clarified that El Gondor Trading 137 (Pty) Ltd, a company of which Vusimusi serves as a director, had been found guilty of non-compliance with the Private Security Sector Provident Fund and Pension Funds Act in the Lekwa Regional Court.

The court fined El Gondor Trading 137 (Pty) Ltd in the amount of R400 000, which was suspended wholly for five years, on condition that it assists Isifisosethu Primary School with installation of solar panels and a contribution of R100 000 towards the school’s feeding scheme.
