Burger Street in Standerton has its own dumping site

While Lekwa-employees are on strike, municipal refuse removal has not been attended to.

The overflowing skip in Burger Street, Standerton remains a contentious issue and is not the only eyesore in town.

A resident remarked that apart from the smell coming from the rubbish, the hygienic aspect can not be overlooked.

While Lekwa-employees are on strike, municipal refuse removal has not been attended to. Some motorists stop from time to time to offload their bags of rubbish.

Skips are a scavenging-haven for beggars and the homeless as well.

The Standerton Advertiser has been reporting on these conditions and in a January-edition, the issue was given coverage.

Lekwa Clean Up Crew (LCUC) has from time to time been collecting the refuse.
