Employee at Secunda Magistrate’s Court contracts Covid-19

The Regional Court is now functioning from Evander and the other courts are handling postponements.

SECUNDA – Most of the people working at the Secunda Magistrate’s Court, are now in self-isolation after a co-worker tested positive for Covid-19.

Only one magistrate, a prosecutor and a few security officers, were among the few present at the court house this morning, 2 July.

They were not in contact with the infected worker.

The others will also be tested.

Workers at the Mpumalanga Department of Health deep sanitised the building yesterday afternoon.

Ms Nolwazi Nkambule, court manager, said the maintenance court is still in operation.

The Regional Court is now functioning from Evander and the other courts are handling postponements.

She said health workers will also help screen employees.

She hopes that everything will be back to normal by next week Thursday.
