Carolina Police arrest three men in connection with house robbery where R84 000 is stolen

An amount of R60 000 was found in the suspects’ possession.

The Carolina Police’s Investigation Unit apprehended three men for their alleged involvement in a house robbery that occurred in CaroPark Carolina on 26 June.

The team conducted an operation in pursuit of information relating to the whereabouts of the men who committed the crime.

During the robbery, the suspects entered a house where Ms Nombuso Sizakele Gumede (21) a domestic worker, was working.

They apparently told her that they were there to fix the electric fence.

They then attacked the complainant and tied her in a room and stole R84 000 before fleeing the property.

Police worked tirelessly and finally made a breakthrough, which saw the successful arrest of the three men.

An amount of R60 000 was found in the suspects’ possession.

It is alleged that the stolen money was already shared and one suspect, who is said to still be at large, has the outstanding amount.

The three men aged between 22 and 30, appeared before the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on Monday 29 June.

The outcome of the case was unknown at the time of going to press.
