The deputy principal of Laerskool Oranjegloed Primary School, Ms Anandi Strauss, confirmed that one of their teachers tested positive for Covid-19.

She said the teacher did not show any symptoms and did not feel ill at all.

The teacher was supposed to go for an operation and as a pre-caution, the hospital required that the teacher go for a Covid-19 test.

Ms Strauss assured the community that everything is under control.

The school informed the Department of Health and the Department of Education and both departments already visited the school today.

The teacher as well as a few other teachers that were in close contact, will be in isolation.

The school will be closed tomorrow to be sanatised by a professional sanatising company and on Thursday the Grade 7s would be able to attend school again.
