Natalie Payn’s Toffee ‘Tamaletjie’
Ingredients
500g of sugar
250ml water
125g of margarine
2ml vanilla essence
Method
- Dissolve sugar in water over low heat.
- Add margarine and boil steadily without stirring to light-crack stage.
- Add vanilla
- pour into well-greased baking tray.
- When slightly cooled mark squares with a knife.
- When cold and set, turn out and break into squares.
