According to Mr Thabo Khoza, EFF member and student at GS College, as a student of Ermelo Campus, we are extremely upset as we have not yet been paid by NSFAS and our landlords are giving us ultimatums to pay or leave.

A crowd of Gert Sibande (GS) College students began a protest action at the Ermelo campus on 27 February due to not receiving funds from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

Students say they are unable to pay their rent as well as buy groceries.

“We have nowhere to sleep, nowhere to stay and we can’t buy food.”

Mr Khoza said some of the students are writing exams next week, but without accommodation and food how is it possible?
