Police warn men against extortion gang in Govan Mbeki area

He is then threatened that the photos will be posted social media and send to all his contacts, including his wife or girlfriend, unless he gives them money.

KINROSS – Police are warning men to be extra cautious when they see a damsel in distress as their chivalry might land them in hands of extortionists.

This is the latest ploy by criminals to extort money from unsuspected men who wanted to be gentlemen.

A gang comprising four women and a man driving in a BMW has been targeting men driving alone.

According to the police, the driver of the BMW will suddenly pull up to the curb in front of the victim, preventing the motorist from being able to drive away.

A woman then jumps out of the BMW, pretending to fall down while the BMW drives off.

When the victim gets out of his vehicle to check on the injured woman, she pulls a gun out and hijacks the man.

She then forces him at gunpoint to follow the BMW to a remote location where the whole gang assaults the victim.

The man is then told to drop his pants. Then, still at gunpoint, the gang takes photos of the victim.

He is then threatened that the photos will be posted social media and send to all his contacts, including his wife or girlfriend, unless he gives them money.

This gang has extorted thousands of Rands from men in the area.

The police warn men to beware of this new scam and not to stop along the road.

They also advise people in general to avoid engaging in sexual acts outdoors, as anyone can catch and film them in the act and then either post it on social media or blackmail you.
