Police release names of murdered family

SECUNDA – Police have just released the names of the four people who were killed in what appears to have been a family murder in Secunda.
They are Mr Andries (51) and Ms Lizelle (53) Naude, their son Henko (17) and Mr Naude’s mother, Ms Christina (Tina) Naude (84).
According to Capt Gerhard Elmes, Secunda police spokesman, Mr Andries Lee of Roman Alarms found the bodies in the house at about 8.30am.
”Colleagues of Mrs Naude from the Marietjie School for Children with Special Educational Needs, were worried when she did not arrive at school this morning and neither did she answer her phone. They notified Mr Lee”
Capt Elmes said Mr Lee gained entrance to the house and found the four family members with bullet wounds.
Ms Tina Naude (84) was found in the first bedroom with a bullet wound to her left temple.
Mr Lee found the bodies of Ms Lizelle Naude and Henko in the second bedroom.
Henko, a top achiever at Hoërskool Secunda where he began his matric year on Wednesday, was a paraplegic.
Mr Lee found Ms Naude in bed with a wound to her left temple.
Henko was also in his bed when he was shot in the left temple.
Mr Naude was found sitting in a pool of blood in the bathroom of the main bedroom.
He had been shot in the mouth.
” A 9mm short pistol was lying next to him,” Capt Elmes said.
He confirmed the police are investigating three cases of murder and an inquest into Mr Naude’s death.

SECUNDA – Four people were found dead in a house in Constantia Street in Secunda this morning, 17 January.
According to Police spokesman, Capt Gerhard Elmes, the names of the deceased cannot be released until the next of kin have been informed.
He confirmed that a shooting incident happened in the house.
The man, his wife, their son and an older woman are dead.
