Divers from Mpumalanga Inland Water Policing and Delta 1 Rescue Diving attended two scenes in the Standerton area in the past two weeks.
They were assisted by ER24 ambulance services.
The first incident took place on 30 December when a car veered off a bridge on the R23 between Standerton and Val.
The divers were on their way back to Secunda from a drowning in Grootvlei, when they were called to this scene.
According to Mr Andries Lee, director of Delta 1, the motorist was indeed lucky to have escaped unharmed. His vehicle was submerged in the water.
