The body of an infant was discovered in Sphingo in Sakhile on Thursday, 21 November.
According to Ms Nelisiwe Sibeko, who lives in the area, children while playing, made the discovery.
They alerted their parents and the Sakhile Police were notified.
Const Duduzile Zwane, communications officer of the Sakhile Police, said it was a fetus. Anyone with information should contact the Sakhile Police.
