Talent scouts chose Thuthukile for America

This is not the only invitation to America which Thuthukile received. She was also recently a finalist in the Cansa Performing for a Cause talent contest

SECUNDA – She is tall, lean, beautiful and young.

With a name that means “progress”, the 14-year-old Thuthukile Mngyandu is destined for greatness.

The first step on her path to turn her modelling and acting dream into a reality, came when she was chosen to audition for international talent scouts, Joey Hunter and Rhavynn Drummer, at the International Arts Talent Showcase in South Africa hosted at the Silverstar Casino on 27 and 28 September.

Hunter represents the International Model And Talent Agency (IMTA) and Drummer is an independent casting director at the Tyler Perry Studios.

Thuthukile was one of the contestants from all over South Africa and Namibia to take part in the two days of performances at the Silverstar Casino. She took part in the modelling and acting auditions.

This Grade 8 learner from Hoërskool Oosterland was chosen here to go to the IMTA convention in America from 18 to 23 July.

The IMTA stage will have a panel of agents, record labels, casting directors, managers and producers from Hollywood, Miami, New York City and Atlanta.

This is not the only invitation to America which Thuthukile received.

She was also recently a finalist in the Cansa Performing for a Cause talent contest.

Cansa invited to showcase her talent in Baco Raton, Florida (USA) next year.

Her mother, Ms Evelyn Mnyandu, said they could not accept both invitations as are being hosted at the same time.

“We decided to go with IMTA,” she said.

Thuthukile inherited her modelling talent from her mother, who was also a model in her youth.

Her father, Mr Thuthuka Mnyandu, has his hands full with three beautiful daughters of whom Thuthukile is the oldest.

Her sisters Atlasaone (8) and Bothlale (3) aspire to walk in their sibling’s steps.

Ms Mnyandu said her daughter, who is over 1,7m tall, is also an excellent netball player.

“Thuthukile is a strong swimmer, but she decided to give up this sport and to rather concentrate on her modelling,” said Mnyandu.
