Two for Joy donates groceries to home in Sakhile

The 14-strong committee took a resolution to adopt the home, undertaking to buy them groceries every month.

Two for Joy, a social club from Sakhile, reached out to the elderly at the Nhlosenhle Home-Based Care, by donating groceries on Saturday, 19 October.

The club was established before 1995 as a soccer club, but changed its format in 1995 to reaching out to the needy in the community.

According to their chairman, Mr Sipho Mkwanazi. the centre wrote a letter to them, identifying the need for food and the 14-strong committee took a resolution to adopt the home, undertaking to buy them groceries every month.

The home accommodates eight senior citizens and volunteers look after them.

“Thank you to the Lekwa community who attended a music event at the Standerton Town Hall in September, that enabled us to partly cover the cost of the groceries,” Mr Mkwanazi said.
