Suspects arrested during Mandrax drug bust, remain in custody

This is one of the biggest uncovered Mandrax drug labs in South Africa.

The seven suspects that was arrested on on 21 August in Breyten, in connection with manufacturing drugs, appeared in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on 21 October.

The case against the men, Messrs Tebogo Nkolwane (40), Mzingise Makoto (69), Rederick Barth (30), Jabulani Dladla (46), Bandile Zigane (35), Vuyo Zigane (32) and Tokologo Maimene (29) was postponed to 12 December, in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court for further investigation.

The suspects were denied bail and remained in custody.

According to Capt Dineo Sekgotodi, spokesman for the Hawks, about R210m worth of mandrax was seized as well as equipment used to manufacture the drug.
