SECUNDA – Ms Jane Gwebu, municipal employee, is intending to appeal the verdict on the assault case against the executive mayor.
This came after Ms Thandi Ngxonono, executive mayor, was acquitted in the assault case against her on Thursday, 25 July.
She was accused of slapping Ms Gwebu causing serious injuries.
The magistrate found that there were not enough evidence against the mayor in order for the case to continue.
Ms Gwebu said she is unhappy as the magistrate was not clear about the outcome.
“At first the matter dragged and was delayed. I do not understand why?
“I am not impressed with the manner in which this case was handled.
“That is why I am appealing the matter.”
