eMBALENHLE – Tjhudu Mashiane called on good Samaritans in the area to help with her Mandela Day Project.
She intends to donate toiletries to the needy children of uMphumela Drop-in-centre.
She identified this centre as one that needs help in the area as they lack resources.
“The orphans are living in a shack which is not in a good condition and their ablution facilities are bad and unhygienic.
“I am calling on all locals to donate anything they can.
“Mother Theresa always said: ‘It is not how much you give, but how much love you put into giving’.”
Tjhudu is a 12-year-old girl from Oranjegloed Primary School and she is in Grade 7.
She recently won the I am a woman, I have a purpose, Community Builder Award.
She has been doing projects for Nelson Mandela Day since 2017.
In 2017 she donated a new laptop and a printer to the Khuthala Association for the Blind and in 2018 she donated over 800 sanitary towels to three rural schools in the eMbalenhle area.
