An accident involving a taxi and a car happened this morning on the corner of PDP Kruger and Kiewiet Street.
Emergency personnel are still on the scene trying to free some of the passengers that are trapped inside the taxi.
Capt Bettina Zondo, spokesman of Secunda Police, confirmed that one person inside the taxi died.
The taxi overturned and was lying on its side when the accident happened.
