Cosas fights for better education

“The movement has and will always be about the classroom struggle as Cosas was formed to fight for the betterment of the education system,” Mr Gumbi said.

The Congress of South African Students, Cosas, celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Sakhile Youth Centre on Friday, 24 May.

The anniversary was part of a celebration in the month Cosas was established and the event included cake-cutting, with various messages of support from the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) that includes Ancyl, Sasco and the Yclsa.

Primary school and high school learners were in attendance, as well as the provincial leadership of the student movement.
