TRICHARDT – Sr Felicia Buthelezi was awarded the annual Nursing Excellence Award by Mediclinic Highveld and Mediclinic Secunda on Friday, 10 May when International Nurses’ Day was celebrated.
Ms Sphiwe Mahlalela, Patient Experience Manager, said the Mediclinic Highveld recognises its nurses role when it comes to outstanding patient care.
According to Ms Mahlalela, International Nurses’ Day is a worldwide tribute to the profession and it is held on 12 May to coincide with Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
“Mediclinic believes that excellent nursing care is about having the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time,” said Ms Mahlalela.
Sr Buthelezi was chosen by her peers and patients for embodying values and ensuring the best possible patient experience.
“We are proud to call her one of our own.”
“Although we can only select one person for the award, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge each of our nursing practitioners for the invaluable expertise and comfort that they provide to each patient whilst delivering world class care.”
