Donate scarves for the needy

Ms Jean Roberts, with a strong community feeling, has knitted 49 scarves up to date and is looking for a worthy, responsible outlet for her endeavours.
“I knit between four to five hours daily,” she said.

“It has to be properly managed.”
She began knitting last year and will depart for a visit to the United Kingdom in August, but once back, it will be all systems go.
The idea of handing out scarves to the elderly on days their grant days at the Post Office and Sassa was bandied about.
Wool donations will also be welcomed later the year.
The Standerton Advertiser spoke to Mr Donovan Henri of the Standerton Lions Club on Tuesday, 21 May about the club’s possible involvement in such an initiative.
Mr Henri undertook to present the idea at a meeting on Wednesday, 29 May with the promise of coming back to us.
