Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor raises stock theft concerns

“We call on all community members to be vigilant and work hand-in-hand with law enforcement agencies to curb this crime,” said Councillor Nkosi.

Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor, Mr Dan Nkosi, said the sharp increase in livestock theft in the area, negatively impacts the farming community and economic growth.

“We call on all community members to be vigilant and work hand-in-hand with law enforcement agencies to curb this crime,” Mr Nkosi said.

The community who attended, informed the municipal leadership about the lack of high mast lights and the need to upgrade access roads, as they feel this would go a long way in fighting crime in the area.

Mr Nkosi also urged the community to refrain from polluting the environment, as this has an affect on the streams and rivers in the area.
