“A young woman managed to escape from the burning building, but told us her mom was still trapped inside,” said Mr Prinsloo.

SECUNDA – A woman was saved from her burning house in Suikerbosrand Street, Secunda, just before 7am this morning, 10 May.

According to the information, a neighbour heard an explosion and phoned Mr Jacques Fourie from StratconRisk.

When Mr Fourie and Mr Gunnie Prinsloo arrived at the house, it was on fire.

“A young woman managed to escape from the burning building, but told us her mom was still trapped inside,” said Mr Prinsloo.

The Stratcon members broke open the bathroom window and helped the mother escape from the smoke and flames.

Mr Prinsloo said the neighbours helped them get hosepipes and they doused the flames while the fire brigade was on their way.
