Passenger dies in head-on collision between Standerton and Secunda
The road will be closed for a while as the police are taking photos of the scene.
STANDERTON – The passenger in a Ford Figo died and the driver sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision with a bakkie this afternoon, 5 April.
The accident happened about 20km from Standerton in the direction of Secunda.
The driver of the Figo was trapped and both the fire brigades from Govan Mbeki Municipality and Lekwa Municipality applied the jaws of life to free the trapped man.
Jelani Security was also on the scene to help the fire brigade.
He was critically injured and taken to hospital by ER24 ambulance.
The driver of the bakkie is seriously injured.
His two passengers sustained moderate injuries.
Langamed transported the occupants to hospital.
