The Standerton Show Grounds was the place to be during a music extravaganza where four national artists along with some local artists performed on 30 March.

According to information from the organisers, more than 1 500 people attended.

That being said, the community of Standerton were up in arms about the noise disturbance it caused, but mostly because of the aftermath they witnessed Sunday morning.

Social media was a flurry of activity with people sharing pictures of the field that was littered with broken bottles, disposable food packaging, liquor wrappers and even the ashes from a fire that was started outside Over the Moon.

The Standerton Advertiser contacted Mr Tshepo Moroe, the organiser, to enquire about the mess.

He acknowledged it and said circumstances delayed the immediate clean-up, because the 80-odd general workers appointed by them, were at the time cleaning at other venues where functions were also held over the weekend.

“We apologise unconditionally for the inconvenience and sore eye this has caused, but are not leaving the mess unattended.”
