Learners excel in year-end exams

Hoërskool Secunda obtained a second place for their mathematics results in Mpumalanga.

HIGHVELD – The 2018 matric class of the Highveld Muslim School in Thistle Grove achieved a 100 per cent pass rate while Hoërskool Secunda achieved a 98,9 per cent pass rate.
Hoërskool Hoogenhout achieved a matric pass rate of 94,9 per cent.
Kusasalethu Secondary School achieved an 86,3 per cent pass rate, Hoërskool Oosterland achieved an 88,1 per cent pass rate, Osizweni 79,2 per cent, Sizwakele Secondary School in eMbalenhle 76,5 per cent, Chief Ampie Mayisa Secondary School in Leandra 72,5 per cent.
Highveld Park High School obtained an 88,5 per cent pass rate, Hoërskool Evander 79,6 per cent, Kiriyatswane Secondary School in eMbalenhle 78,1 per cent and KI Twala Secondary School in eMbalenhle 61,4 per cent.
Vukuqhakaze Secondary School in Leandra achieved a 60,2 per cent pass rate, Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School in eMbalenhle 57,6 per cent and Thistle Grove Combined School 54 per cent.
Hoërskool Secunda’s top achievers for 2018 are Kobus du Toit, JF Rademeyer and Corlia van der Bank with eight distinctions each. Michaela Badenhorst, Merilyn Subermoney, Amelia Orsmond and Johan Venter each achieved seven distinctions.
Elizma Booysen, Chaldon Fourie and Jannitha van den Berg obtained six distinctions each, while HW Alberts, Kimberleigh Hartley, Ashna Ramasur, Eliz-mari Sullivan and Ethan van Breda obtained five distinctions each.
Carlia Barkhuizen, Zirk du Preez, Jantjie Harmse, Gustav Heese, Lihle Khumalo, Charlé Kotze, Khanyiwile Maseko, Rentia Mason and Hannelie Viljoen obtained four distinctions each.
Hoërskool Secunda’s learners’ obtained 193 distinctions and 75,3 per cent of their learners passed with exemption for further studies. The school obtained a second place for their mathematics results in Mpumalanga.
One of Hoërskool Hoogenhout’s top achievers is Franci Louwrens with a total of six distinctions. She is also the learner with the best achievement in mathematics in Mpumalanga with a result of 97 per cent.
Jenna Danckert and Danelle de Klerk of Hoogenhout also obtained six distinctions each and Antonio Azevedo and Phillip Rheeder obtained five distinctions each.
Hoërskool Oosterland’s learners obtained 107 distinctions in total and their top achievers are Elané Kruger with six distinctions and Brian Marais with seven distinctions.
