Thieves target grave markers in Breyten

Family members who have lost grave markers of their loved ones are urged to visit the Breyten Police station to check if they are the ones recovered.

Abandoned grave markers, suspected to be stolen to be sold for scrap, were found near the railway tracks in Breyten recently.

According to Breyten Police, thieves are stealing the markers from the grave site and sell them for money.

Family members who have lost grave markers of their loved ones are urged to visit the Breyten Police station to check if they are the ones recovered.

The public can also alternatively contact Sgt Thabo Mashegoane during office hours at 017 861 3025.

Thieves are stealing grave markers to be sold for scrap in Breyten. Police recovered the following markers near the railway line and ask the public to come to the station to check if its markers of their deceased loved ones.
