Learners in Wesselton enjoy Dream Kids School Holiday Programme at Qambekile Primary School

The aim was for the learners to use their energy in a positive way by doing physical fun activities, arts and crafts, group discussions, computer classes with the highlight being the cinema where learners watched educational films.

The Dream Kids School Holiday Programme took place at the Qambekile Primary School, in Wesselton, from 4 to 8 December.

The programme, hosted by the Department of Social Department (DSD) and various stakeholders, seeks to engage children from various schools within the area, keeping them away from the streets and being exposed to negative influences during the school holidays.

The programme culminated with learners celebrating National Children’s Day on Friday, 7 December where a total of 800 children, between the ages of seven and 18 years were in attendance.

According to the DSD, the aim of the day is to highlight progress being made towards the promotion of children rights.
