Man found with marijuana worth R150 000 in Mayflower

The man was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment in the Mayflower Periodical Court on 3 October.

A 33-year-old man was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment in the Mayflower Periodical Court on 3 October after he was found in possession of marijuana at the intersection of Waverly and Glenmore Road.

According to Mayflower Police, the man from Swaziland was stopped by Waverly Port of Entry Police, who requested to search the vehicle he was driving in.

“After police received permission to search, they found 116 rolls of marijuana weighing 25,24kg with an estimated street value of R150 000,” Const Tryphina Utla, spokesman for the Mayflower Police, said.
