Eendraght goes days without water

“Residents are urged to contact the call centre on 0800 6000 01/2/4 to report service delivery complaints so that they are attended to on time.”

EENDRACHT – Local residents were recently without water for five days.

Although the dry spell lasted for five days, they were without it again on 16 October.

Complaints poured in from residents out of frustration. The municipality claimed that on 9 October, a team was sent out to assess the issue. The findings were that a pipe had burst in Webber Street, thus affecting the water supply.

“Our team could not respond to the complaints on the same day due to logistic problems. It was reported again on 16 October that there was no water and the team opened the water for residents,” said Mr Benzi Soko, chief of staff in the Govan Mbeki Municipality.

“Residents are urged to contact the call centre on 0800 6000 01/2/4 to report service delivery complaints so that they are attended to on time.”
