Five men arrested during raid by Sakhile Police

The raid also saw two shops being shut down for selling expired products and illicit cigarettes were confiscated.

The Sakhile Police, along with other stakeholders, embarked on a raid on foreign-owned shops on 13 September where five immigrants were arrested.

Four men were apprehended in connection with not possessing any documentation to be in South Africa, while one was arrested in connection with the hiring of an illegal immigrant.

The raid also saw two shops being shut down for selling expired products and illicit cigarettes were confiscated.

“We are grateful to all who worked towards this initiative and it certainly won’t stop here,” Const Duduzile Zwane, communications officer, said.
