Road between Charl Cilliers and eMbalenhle open after fatal accident

The Govan Mbeki municipal emergency workers used the jaws of life to rescue a trapped motorist from a car wreck.

Road between Charl Cilliers and eMbalenhle is now open and the scene has been cleared where three cars collided near the Charlie 4 turn off earlier tonight.

According to Mr Alf Byleveldt of Jelani Security whose personnel came upon the accident, one man died in the accident, another man who is seriously injured, was taken to hospital by ER24 ambulance services and a third person was rush to hospital by the provincial ambulance services.

eMBALENHLE – The road between Charl Cilliers and eMbalenhle is closed due to a fatal accident involving three vehicles near the Charlie 4 turn off.

The accident happened at about 6.30pm tonight, 1 September.

The details of the accident and the number of fatalities can not yet be confirmed.

The police are warning motorists to avoid this road as it will be closed off for quite a while.

Motorists should rather use alternative routes.
