Five die in shootings in eMbalenhle over the weekend

A group of men armed with pangas and other weapons entered the premises and opened fire.

eMBALENHLE – It was a weekend of blood shed in eMbalenhle, as multiple shootings were reported.

According to the police five people were killed in mostly taverns between Saturday and Sunday morning.

Police said one man died at Cheap Corner, two died at Evander Hospital and two are in a critical condition.

An unconfirmed number of people were seriously injured at the Dinas Tarven and were taken to the hospital.

In another incident a foreign national man was shot in the head in the Mandela Section.

No one has been arrested and police are investigating.
