KG Fit and Elite Defence Academy empower women to stand up for themselves

One class on basic self-defense is not enough

TRICHARDT – Women attending the self-defence workshop at KG Fit Gym at Terra Nova on Women’s Day said they felt more empowered.

Mr Gawie Steyn and Ms Karen Gräbe from KG Fit Gym invited Elite Defence Academy (EDA) to host a free workshop to help women and children to defend themselves.

Mr Jacques Alberts, who is also from StratconRisk, explained the aim of the class was to show women they are able to defend themselves, but that they will need to train and be alert at all times.

“One class on basic self-defence is not enough,” he said.

The EDA instructors demonstrated how women can get away from their attackers and how they can defend themselves with simple weapons, such as a pen.

Women who want to join self-defence classes at EDA, can contact Marcel de Beer at 076 434 7750.
