Police celebrate Father’s Day with elderly men

Men for Change and Women‘s Network in partnership with Steers, Debonairs Pizza, Fish Aways, Bethal Sasol CBD celebrated Father's Day with locals.

Bethal SAPS Men For Change and Women’s Network, in partnership with Steers, Debonairs Pizza, Fish Aways and Bethal Sasol CBD celebrated Father’s Day with 15 elderly men from Siyanakekela Old Aged Centre.

This came after Const Thomas Mogadime, from Men for Change, met with the management team of the sponsors to initiate the Father’s Day breakfast, and the idea was adopted.

During the celebration, the manager of both restaurants, Ms Marcia Madida, welcomed everyone and wished all the fathers a happy Father’s Day and encouraged them to love one another.

She also sang a gospel song.

Const Mogadime encouraged the fathers to be positive role models in the community by not becoming perpetrators of domestic violence.

He also spoke about crimes against children, as well as the elderly’s rights.

Ms Florence Mosia, manager of the Siyanakekela Old Aged Centre project, thanked Bethal SAPS Men for Change for supporting and organising the breakfast for the elderly. She also thanked the sponsors for making the day a remarkable one for the elderly.

Ms Mosia is running the centre with support from local businesses and asked other businesses to assist her where possible.

Const Mogadime thanked the management team and staff of Debonairs, Steers, Fish Aways and Sasol CBD for pampering the elderly on the day.

He also thanked Mr Sibusiso Zondo for helping to transport the elderly.
