Armed robbers storm gaming store in Secunda CBD

Gunmen flee with R23 000 and computer.

SECUNDA – An armed gang robbed Hollywood Bets in the Secunda CBD today, 9 June.

According to Capt Bettina Zondo, spokesman of Secunda Police Station, seven gunmen robbed the gaming centre at about 8.30am.

The robbers threatened the security guard and forced him at gunpoint to take them to the other employees.

The robbers locked the employees in the kitchen and then went to the manager’s office where they took a computer that is connected to cameras. They also demanded money.

Capt Zondo said the suspects wore balaclavas and gloves.

“They pointed their guns at the manager and demanded money. An amount estimated to be R23 000 was stolen.”

They left the business but it is not known what tranport they used. No arrests have been made yet.

The police are investigating.
