Well-known eMbalenhle businessman arrested by Hawks for alleged fraud

Mr Kgomu allegedly deducted over R270 000 from his employees and failed to submit the funds to the Provident Fund Scheme.

Mr William Vusimuzi Moses Kgomu (53), a director of E1 Gondor Trading Security Company (Pty) (Ltd) has been arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Unit on February 13 for alleged fraud.

Mr Kgomu allegedly deducted over R270 000 from his employees and failed to submit the funds to the Provident Fund Scheme.

When the company shut down in 2017, the employees discovered that nothing was due to them, because they were never registered for the fund.

Mr Kgomu appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and he has been granted bail of R2 000.

The case was postponed to 9 April.
