G4S officer attacked by group of armed robbers in Bethal

A security officer of G4S was attacked by a group of armed robbers today, 27 November at about 1.25pm in Bethal.

A security officer of G4S was attacked by a group of armed robbers today, 27 November at about 1.25pm in Bethal.

Ms Wendy Hardy, Communication Consultant for G4S Cash Solutions, said the security officer was attacked while returning to the armoured vehicle having performed a cash collection service for a customer.

“Shots were fired at the scene, but thankfully no one was injured. The robbers fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money,” she said.

According to another source a light aircraft of one of the local farmers are looking for the vehicle which the robbers fled in.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to contact the South African Police Services.
