Govan Mbeki Municipality said residents should expect power supply interruptions next week.
According to a notice the reason for these power interruption is to repair the vandalised transformer wiring and to test the protection arc scheme in the substations.
The aim is to improve power quality and stability and reliability of the power supply of Bethal and eMzinoni.
The municipality urged residents to treat all points of supply as live and to protect their sensitive loads or electrical apparatus against voltage surges when the power gets switched back on.
