In his new book, “A search for my Africa”, Siphesihle Shabalala argues that we all have a narrative of what makes our Africa.

Shabalala suggests there are three things upon which the African identity is based on.

These are colour, continent and concepts.

“Colour is the global identification that historically lead to slavery and we must discuss what this ought to mean to us today. Secondly, those who live on the continent or love the continent identify with it through its political and economic reality and concepts.”

Shabalala said because of colonisation, Africans base their life approach on different life concepts.

His sentiments are that Africa’s division was a deliberate tool of the oppressor and that division delayed development.

“We all need to unite in the identity that drives our African reality and work to develop this continent for the next generation.”

Shabalala is the founding pastor of the Jerusalem Tabernacle, an author, speaker, activist and director of Well of Wisdom Projects Pty Ltd.

This is his second book.

His is passionate about contextualising information to reflect the African inherent intellect.

He believes this will shift Africa from consumer to producer, a need for economic transformation.

Shabalala believes God created all men as producers and that oppression, whether political or economic, is against God’s purpose for men and life.
